By new technology we mean all the scientific innovations and accelerations that improve life, which can also be described as high technology. And more precisely, in the strict sense of the word, new information and communication technologies (NICTs) are the innovations in communication and information sharing that have made the digital revolution.
New technologies and business techniques
So smart selling is on the move and is always on the lookout for new innovations. In the past, sales staff would approach customers directly, whether through door-to-door sales, approaches in specialist shops or in the street and offices. Now, prospecting can be done via digital technologies and the internet. Indeed, when browsing the web while doing research, whether for personal, business or study purposes, a window asks for consent to accept or reject cookies in order to "save your preferences". As a result, a few clicks offer the prospectors features about you. Depending on the clicks and acceptances of the various offers that are made to you while you are surfing, your consumption profile becomes more precise. It is therefore easier to offer you a product or service that you will probably need.
New technologies to support the sales teams
In order to obtain the same and even better results than prospecting in the strict sense of the word, new technologies can be a more than useful tool. Indeed, while browsing the web, each Internet user leaves traces of his purchases, preferences and tastes when he selects a product, or sorts through several similar products. This means that when it comes to prospecting, everything is more simplified with the digital life. As far as canvassing is concerned, it is even easier because currently in 2019 about half of the world's population has an e-mail address and in France each Internet user has an average of 2.1 e-mail addresses (personal, professional and others). Of course, it is easy for an Internet user to sort his emails into several categories (new options): spam, promotions and social networks according to the address provider's offer. But it is easy to hijack these sorts, moreover, if a personalized proposal (without multiple sending) is made, the mail will arrive at the main inbox, in addition to the fact that the Internet user would perhaps be more convinced and able to accept a personalized proposal.
